Does getting a crown hurt?

The procedure is performed under local anesthesia, so you won't feel pain during preparation. Some sensitivity is normal for a few days after placement, which resolves on its own.

Do I need a root canal before getting a crown?

Not always. If the tooth's nerve is healthy, a crown can be placed without a root canal. However, if the tooth has deep decay, infection, or has had previous root canal treatment, a root canal may be needed first. We will assess this during your examination.

How do I care for a dental crown?

Brush twice daily, floss carefully around the crown, and avoid biting hard objects. See your dentist regularly for check-ups. Crowns can develop decay at the margin where they meet the gum, so good oral hygiene is essential.

Can I get multiple crowns in one trip?

Yes. Many patients have 4–10 or more crowns done in a single trip. All crowns are prepared on day 1 and placed on day 5–7 after lab fabrication. This is one of the most popular ways to maximize savings at our clinic.

Tooth Preparation
